My vice is trap. Even though Migos, 2 Chainz, Future, Young Thug, and Gucci Mane didn’t make my Top 10, they were in my queue a lot. I mean, a lot, a lot. On top of that, I am also a sucker for synth pop and the vapor wave movement, so when I found NxxxxxS, I just couldn’t put it down. Hard 808s mashed with what sounds like a mixture of 70s crime movie chords and weird excerpts from daytime tv run through a warbly reel to reel tape recorder. 1/2 modern trap, 1/2 vintage low brow nostalgia. I drew to this album a lot this year, so thank you @nfivexs for being one of my biggest musical influences this year.
Well, that’s it. Those are my Top 10. It took me a long time, revising, reordering, fumbling to fit albums I found in the month before we started making this list because they just blew me away. Thanks @ericrmortensen @skinnyships for the invitation to this project, it was so good for my brain to draw my ass off just for fun. Music is my biggest influence - both for visual art and making my own music. Anyways, thanks for all the comments of support, stoked to share the stuff I’ve been listening to. ❤️✌️
