J Dilla + Smithsonian

In 8th grade, I found an album in my bros room and gave it a listen. That album was Slum Village's Fantastic Vol 2. It was like something I never heard before—a pinnacle moment in my life of hip-hop that set me down the right path—the path of Dilla. About 20 years later my life has come full circle with an illustration project dedicated to the man! Dilla changed my life, and he changed the way hip-hop is produced.
