Halide 1.5: A camera app designed for iPhone X

I'm extremely proud and excited to show off our app update for iPhone X: Halide 1.5.

We spent a ton of work basically redesigning it from the ground up for iPhone X.

When we saw the iPhone X for the first time and adapted our UI for it, it seemed like it was so tall that it was becoming hard to reach some controls. As a result, I designed the UI around having more and less important things within reach. That felt bad; you really want to have all controls under your thumb, and everyone uses different features, so it was becoming a bit... shitty.

So we redesigned it so everything is within reach at the bottom of the screen. The 'ears' next to the notch now show functional readouts with minimal interaction (levels, exposure compensation value).

Crazy to have so much camera in a device so small. I hope you guys like it!

Read all about it in our announcement blog post.

This 3D render was made with help from the amazing Martin Haijek.
