Nate McClain was an emerging artist who tragically passed away at age 24 from a Mississippi River drowning accident in 1997. He lived in the Washington Avenue ArtLofts after earning a Fine Arts Illustration degree from Missouri State and is known for his large-scale paintings, including a 9-foot mural for Ozzie Smith’s retirement from baseball. Over the past twenty years, loyal family & friends have kept McClain’s memory alive thru his online gallery and posthumously saving one of his 16-foot murals from demolition.
