Red Sox Scores: August 20, 2017
Game No. 123
Jackie Bradley Jr.’s two-run triple in the second inning would be all the Red Sox would need to defeat their rivals, though he and Sandy León combined to add another three runs. Starter Rick Porcello allowed only three hits, including New York’s only run, a solo homer by Brett Gardner, to help the Sox pick up the win and a five-game lead on top of the A.L. East.
•••• For every Red Sox game this season, @Dan Perrera and I are visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. Home games are on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox are always red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
