Non-traditional grid system

This animation shows the grid system that was used in the design of the Customs House website.

Instead of using the common 12 column grid which nearly every website utilises I wanted to try something different. I based the grid on the Customs House logo which is made of squares. This gave me a way to inject the branding into the very core of the design.

This result was a 20 column grid with no padding - a very flexible grid system which allowed for fluid and dynamic layouts across the various pages of the site.
