Alpha CNC Logo [WIP]

A WIP for a CNC milling company. I thought about supporting the logo with isometric illustrations of machines and milling operations. The isometric grid in the background will be the same angles as the angles of the slants of the characters - but tilted by 90°. I'm also thinking about a bold orange or sky blue as primary color.

What do you think? Is the alpha character recognizable as such? Did you recognize the counter of the alpha character as milling bit or as something different?
