Sketch Symbol Overrides Concept

Sketch 45 has just launched but I'm still frustrated by how symbol overrides work in the sidebar.

It's an incredibly complex issue but I have attempted to explore a way to improve it and give a little more control over what can be overridden.

This first pass does not account for deeply nested symbols (although I think the pattern could accommodate that with only minor adjustments).

I took a button symbol that I am using in another project and used it as the basis for this concept.

The attachment shows the various open states in more detail.
