Weather app onboarding explorations

From Kelly Batchelor, our Weather design trainee, who led this piece of work:

We want to give our users the best possible experience on the BBC Weather app, so have been busy exploring some on-boarding hints.

This shows gesture based encouragement as well as a spotlighting technique (Android only at the moment), which focuses the user on specific features to discover within the app. These prompts have the ability to pop up contextually, aiding the user through the app naturally.

We're exploring different ways to prompt our users to find more functionality. More coming soon!
