Woven Issue 03

Introducing Woven Magazine Issue 03.

For three years now, my wife and I have run and produced an online editorial and physical zine called Woven. We like to say we are a magazine for makers and thinkers. Our interviews span a wide range of makers, designers, artists, and photographers. We care about good design, and believe our greatest task is "to serve the work." Subsequently, one of our main focuses is how to do that and the thought behind the work. Last year we ran a successful Kickstarter for issue 01, and now we are on our third.

The Maker's Impression examines the unique capacity of the artist and designer to reflect the times in which we live, to express values and beliefs, and make small nudges towards a more inclusive and thoughtful world. Whether through a photograph, a canvas, or a finely tooled leather boot, art and design wield the power to challenge accepted norms, put life in perspective, connect communities, or dive into a deeper view of time. From a multitude of approaches and tools, we look at the way artists, entrepreneurs, and craftsmen and women leave their mark with a lasting impression.
