WM Personal Brand for UX Designer
My initials make a nice squiggly line when mashed together like this. The unity and simplicity of that silhouette appeals to me, so even just as a black mark I like it a lot. Having said that, I spent a lot of time on the colors.
After Designing, programming, and writing for the web for 12 years; and as Sr. Manager of User Experience at Fire Engine RED; I often find myself in a position between two worlds: logical and artistic, engineer and creative, a designer who can code. I love it and it's where I thrive, so...
I had to find a way to represent that dynamic tension and I did so with color. The fiery passion of red and the cool techy blue overlap in a purple forward slash. That overlapping space in the middle is UX design (which in my world is 99% software interfaces and some branding/print on the side). The fact that it easily reads as a forward slash was a happy bonus and once I locked onto that I seeked out letterforms that would reinforce it.
