Kulturhavn GIF

Kulturhavn is an annual cultural festival set in the beautiful scenery of the 17th-century Nyhavn, a waterfront, canal and entertainment district harbour in Copenhagen, Denmark. Each year they hold a competition to design the identity for the festival. This is the 2015 entry and winner of a Design & Design award, featured in their annual 2016.

The design principle is based on using the vivid colours of the harbourside buildigns, which dominate the harbour skyline. The animation, which was pitched alongside the main identity is a reflection of my interpritation of the waves, ebbing and flowing into the harbour. The inverted colours illustrate the festivities which continue throughout the night and day.
