Lucky Cranes

I'm excited to be participating in an upcoming show at Light Grey Art Lab, in Minneapolis! "Fortune" is an exhibition about luck, charms, fortune, and karma in the year to come—featuring 80 artists from around the world.

This is a little preview of the piece I did...

The crane or "tsuru" is a symbol of good fortune and longevity in Japanese folklore because of its fabled lifespan of 1,000 years. Cranes are also said to be masters at killing snakes, and natural enemies of evil. My design is a more modern interpretation of the Japanese "tsuru mon" crest, featuring three cranes encircling and defying a snake. Pick up a print to defend your dwelling against the malevolent forces of the universe ! ! !

Check out the opening reception at Light Grey Art Lab on Friday, December 2nd from 7pm–10pm.

All of the designs will be showcased in various foils, with mine being gold foil on dark grey paper. The prints are available in 8 x 10" size, or a cute tiny 4.25 x 5.5" print or greeting card.
