Warriors Rebrand

Eight months ago, my wife and I were sitting in a hotel room in Santa Fe bored out of our minds. Apparently the entire city shuts down around 6:15 - besides 2 dinky bars and the $100 per plate steak restaurant down the street - So we flipped on the tele in search of some relief.

What we happened upon was one of the wildest sports moments I've ever witnessed. The Golden State Warriors were playing the Thunder away in Oklahoma City. After a tense 4th quarter, Steph Curry hit two seemingly impossible 3's - one sending the game into overtime and the other a game-winner at the buzzer - Both from a distance I thought was reserved for Dude Perfect. I had heard Curry's name before, but never really watched him play. We were hooked.

As I've grown more and more in love with the Warriors, my distaste for their logo has grown too. The Copperplate... The wonky circles... The bandwagoning sports fan in me can't get enough of them, but the pretentious designerd in me can't even allow myself to buy a jersey because of their current brand.

All that to say - I think their brand could use a refresh. The Splash Bros. deserve better. Their play is bold, electric, and is literally changing the game, and I think their look should reflect that. I found Brent's shot a while back and have been toying around with a variation of his concept for the past couple weeks - Will hopefully have a more fleshed out rebrand post to share sometime soon.

Side note: Anyone have Steve Kerr's number? :)
