Navigation Bar for Runenstein 2.0

Here's my first try at a navigation bar for the next version of my app, Runenstein. I'm really interested in suggestions for improvement.

Incidentally, the rounded bar was inspired by http://dribbble.com/shots/248594-Early-Stages.

(Also pictured is a custom background for a table view; too noisy?)
