I Have a Dream - August 28, 1963

Today is a special day! Anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington where 200,000 people gathered together to demand action on the Civil Rights Act and racial equality that had not materialized even 100 years after slavery had been abolished. Martin Luther King was a last minute addition to the speaker list. No one wanted to speak last for fear all attendees might leave early. Even the I Have a Dream speech could have turned out differently had Mahalia Jackson not shouted from behind the podium, "Tell them about the Dream, Martin!"
