Exploring Smart Thermostat Controls: Interactions

Recently our creative team has been exploring ways to incorporate micro interactions within this smart thermostat product. These interactions are vitally important to communicating feedback to a user of actions they are taking throughout the experience.

In this example we are looking to show a user the results of manipulating the main dial within this screen. We user color to give immediate feedback and then show the thermostat schedule updating below to reflect the choice a user has made.

Within this experience a user can tap into areas like the thermostat schedule to view a more detail breakdown with more controls. However we wanted to experiment with giving a user a certain amount of control over this data. To do this we are showing an example of how 3D touch can be incorporated to quickly edit their schedule manually if needed.

Follow us as we continue to explore other micro interactions and motion within this exercise!
