Leica App

I've been shooting with the Leica T for almost a year now and it's a fantastic camera in many ways. The companion app however is a bit of disappointment in my eyes and I think Leica is missing out on some great opportunity here by not reaching the same level of craftsmanship and simplicity with it as they have with the camera itself.

I spent a few hours during the weekend trying to tackle some of the biggest pain points I've experienced so far.

To begin with, pairing the T with your phone is a mess. They managed to fix the unreliable part of it with the latest firmware update but the pairing process just includes too many steps still. It MUST be possible to make smoother. 😤

Less frustrating but what still bugs me is that the UI of the app doesn't make it feel like a companion to the camera, and this is true for all of Leica's apps.

Speaking of apps, from a user perspective I don't understand why I'd have to download different apps for different cameras. Ideally I'd like to see one app that adapts to whatever camera you pair it with. Obviously that brings enormous technical challenges but at a glance it looks like they all have similar feature sets so... u can always dream :)
