bearded drummer logo/branding design

My client wanted a logo design and branding assets that he could use for all of his multimedia. He was thinking of using a photoshopped image of himself between the 2 words. He liked artistic design and detail with a bespoke heritage look. He also liked symmetrical, Wes Anderson typefaces. He mentioned that he would like to try a circle. Karl provided great examples for a mood board.

I designed the logo in Adobe Illustrator focusing on a vintage badge style and an art deco font to emphasize the geometric design. I also included a similar geometric monogram with intertwined lower case initial forms that were similar to the lower case word mark. For the character icon we looked at logos that were great at standing along (such as Deadmau5). So i came up with a simplified lion character design in easily identifiable glasses and line work that mimicked the badge design and pulled the branding elements together.
