Dental Appointment System: Bungah Family Dental Care
1️⃣About This Project
This project was developed as part of a collaborative internship, where I worked closely with a team to design a responsive appointment management system for Bungah Family Dental Care. Prior to this, all bookings were handled manually, either through WhatsApp or in person, which often caused inefficiencies and lack of real-time coordination.
Located in Semarang, Bungah Family Dental Care is a trusted family clinic providing dental services for all ages with experienced doctors and modern facilities. The goal of this system was to bring convenience and clarity to both patients and clinic staff through a digital interface tailored to real-world needs.
2️⃣Problem
The existing process for booking appointments relied on manual communication via WhatsApp or walk-ins, which led to miscommunication, scheduling conflicts, and inefficiencies in service delivery. The clinic needed a centralized digital platform that allows patients to:
Register and manage their profiles independently
Easily view available schedules and book appointments
Receive reminders and access medical records online
Improve service speed, accuracy, and overall patient satisfaction.
3️⃣Process
This project was driven by team-based collaboration. The project manager gathered requirements from the clinic owner and doctors, and communicated them to me as the UI/UX Designer.
I then translated those needs into a clean, intuitive interface—designed specifically from the user’s perspective. Each feature (e.g., registration form, online booking, medical history view) was built with simplicity and accessibility in mind, and every progress iteration was validated through internal reviews with stakeholders.

5️⃣ Impact & Reflection
Designing the Dental Appointment System for Bungah Family Dental Care allowed me to translate complex healthcare workflows into a clear, responsive, and user-centered interface. This project significantly improved the clinic’s operational efficiency by shifting from manual booking via WhatsApp to an integrated digital platform, empowering patients to manage appointments, view medical records, and receive timely reminders. It strengthened my ability to design with empathy, align with stakeholder needs, and deliver practical solutions that enhance both patient experience and clinic operations.
