Mel Mol Power – Brand Refresh

Mel Mol Power is a Guatemalan blog and personal brand focused on motherhood, family life, and emotional well-being. Formerly known as MotherPower, the platform needed a fresh and modern identity to reflect the personal growth of its founder and the evolving voice of her community.

Creative Process

Discovery & Research

The project started with a deep conversation with the client to understand her new direction. Formerly "MotherPower", the blog was shifting from a general motherhood focus to something more personal and empowering, tied to her own identity as Melisa.

We discussed:

  • The shift from informational blog to personal brand

  • The tone and values: warmth, honesty, empowerment, family

  • Her audience: mostly mothers, women, and caregivers seeking real-life inspiration

I then explored branding trends in similar niches (motherhood blogs, wellness influencers, personal brands) and identified opportunities for authenticity and uniqueness.

Ideation & Sketching

With the new name Mel Mol Power in hand, I began sketching logo concepts that balanced:

  • Personal identity (her name)

  • Energy & dynamism

  • Softness to reflect her nurturing side

I explored:

  • Lettermark and wordmark options

  • Friendly yet bold typography

  • Icons related to voice, empowerment, and motherhood

Design & Refinement

I moved to digital explorations using Adobe Illustrator, testing multiple compositions, color palettes, and type combinations. The final design:

  • Uses rounded, approachable letterforms

  • Features a vibrant, modern color scheme (to stand out and radiate positivity)

  • Has a layout that adapts well across social media and blog headers

I presented 3 refined options, and the chosen design was further polished based on Melisa’s feedback.
