Partner Dashboard – Making Data-Driven Decisions Easier
🧩 Problem Statement
As our Partner Relationship Management (PRM) platform grew, so did the complexity of tracking operational performance and partner engagement. Key metrics like clawbacks, commissions, revenue trends, and partner activity were buried across different reports, making it difficult for users—especially partner managers and leadership—to access real-time insights and make informed decisions.
There was no single source of truth where users could quickly monitor performance or tailor data views to their specific roles or regions. The result? Slow decision-making, misalignment across teams, and missed opportunities for optimization.
🎯 Use Case
A Regional Partner Manager wants to track the performance of partners in the APAC region, comparing their engagement and sales over the past quarter. They also want to identify which partners are underperforming in onboarding or course completion, to plan follow-ups.
Without a centralized dashboard:
They must download raw reports from different sources.
Manually filter and compare data in spreadsheets.
Repeat the process weekly to monitor changes.
With the new dashboard:
They can apply filters for region, partner type, and time period.
View widgets tailored to engagement, performance, and revenue trends.
Instantly compare with previous periods to track improvement or decline.
🚀 My Role
As the Product Designer, I led:
User research to define key metrics and workflows.
Wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes for dashboard widgets.
UX flows for filter application and comparison logic.
Design QA with developers to ensure role-based widget rendering worked as intended.
🧠 Design Process
1. Research & Strategy
I collaborated with product and analytics teams to understand:
What metrics matter most to different users.
How users currently interact with data.
Gaps in visibility and decision-making delays.
2. Information Architecture
We grouped widgets by strategic goal, mapping them into four distinct dashboards:
Performance: Tracks partner success metrics.
Financial: Displays commissions, revenue, and clawbacks.
Engagement: Shows onboarding and education progress.
Main Dashboard: A high-level summary with key highlights from all sub-dashboards.
3. Widget Logic & Permissions
Each widget's visibility is role-based, ensuring relevant insights for:
Admins
Partner Managers
Owners
4. Filtering System
Designed a global filtering logic that applies contextually to all relevant widgets. Filters include:
Time Period
Region
Partner Type
5. Prototype & Validation
Built interactive prototypes to:
Test usability of dashboard navigation.
Validate comprehension of filters and comparison tools.
Gather feedback from internal users and iterate on layout, clarity, and grouping.
