Learning Experience Design with Synthesia

This e-learning is part of a six-phase learning path dedicated to new and migrating global clients. The client aimed to use Synthesia to showcase the benefits and key features of the new payroll management UI.

Process

Before the development phase, I met with the delivery team to understand the main challenges they encountered when introducing the new cloud-based payroll processing service to clients.

The next step was to pinpoint the most evident benefits compared to the old systems and highlight the features that support those benefits.

I decided to use Synthesia, storytelling elements, and dialogue between the main characters of the overview course.

Instructional Design

During the preparation phase, I worked with subject matter experts across 4 regions to develop the scripts, which I then used to create and record the videos on the platform.

Hans and Claudia, the main characters, appear throughout the 15 hours of content created for new and migrating global clients. Hans represents the client’s perspective as a newcomer, while Claudia supports him as his senior. I simplified the highly technical content into more accessible, user-friendly language.

Synthesia played a key role in the success of this content. It allowed me to bring the characters, Claudia and Hans, to life using avatars.

During the development phase, I created scenarios and dialogues between them to simulate the feel of a live online session.

The overview video was a strong internal success, adopted by the sales team and published on various client-facing platforms.
