Luno - Illustration Rebrand

Overview.

In 2024, we were lucky enough to be approached by Luno for an in depth collaboration. With a creative refresh and website rebuild on the brand’s horizon, a new and distinct visual language needed to be defined and produced to help build more cohesion across their public domains. What we were left with was a set of 42 high fidelity 3D assets, and a material and colour library that could be used by their internal team for future production. Big one. Enjoy.

Placements.

The assets were built around three key use cases. Hero assets were the most complex and generally lived above the fold, playing close attention to page layout. They were followed by mids, which had shadow based stages, and lived within page subsections. Finally, icons formed the majority of the asset count, and had to visualise more literal concepts. Although the icon placements would be small, all assets were supplied to handle any larger placements that Luno may have in the future.

Movement.

As the brief entered its final stages, Luno wanted to create a set of six looping visuals, built off of the stability and simplicity of the creative language that had now been clearly defined. Originally intended as social focused outputs, the concepts were adjusted to live across a wider set of placements.

Process.

The production process was one of heavy research and iteration. With such a saturated landscape, particularly around Crypto based 3D branding, finding a unique tonality, whilst maintaining the brand principles of confidence and stability, was our primary focus. But, once we found our footing, the rollout was an opportunity to get back to the comfort of fidelity and tactility, building assets that render well, and can be used across future iterations within Luno’s design and marketing teams.

Thanks for watching!
