Event Poster Series - Yamistan Montreal
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, darktable
Poster series for a local acoustic concert series featuring intimate performances and informal venues. Inspired by retro aesthetics, the design centers the band names with a strong focus on readability. A consistent visual system supports multiple variants per poster, creating cohesion across events while allowing space for individuality.
Digital Abstraction & Motion
Part of an ongoing series, this poster draws from digital abstraction with a nod to kinetic art and funky retro color palettes. The flowing lines and warped typography create a strong sense of motion and spatial depth, capturing the energy of the event while maintaining clear visual hierarchy.
Celebrating the 40th edition
For the 40th session, we leaned into a retro-futuristic aesthetic — something between 20th Century Fox grandeur and vintage arcade energy — to reflect the longevity and evolution of the event. This poster uses contrasting neon colors, 3D vector typography, and a mix of collage textures and visual noise to tie the elements together while staying true to the event’s nostalgic identity.
Nostalgia for the winter series
For the winter edition, we aimed to capture the spirit of the season through a layered visual approach. Using collage techniques and seasonally inspired color palettes, the design highlights the beauty of winter while maintaining clarity. The layered compositions allow backgrounds and typography to interact fluidly, without compromising readability.
For the 42nd edition, we embraced the monochrome stillness of winter, drawing attention to the intricate forms of bare branches and the way Montreal snow engulfs the landscape. The design evokes a sense of looking out from a warm interior, creating a subtle tension between the cold outside and the coziness within — a quiet, contemplative pause before the seasonal shift.
For the 43rd edition, the concept was all about evoking the lingering heat of summer — the kind that pulls you outdoors. The visual direction leans into warm tones, energetic composition, and a layout that captures the feeling of movement and sun-drenched spontaneity.
The 44th Edition – Designed at the cusp of winter and spring, this poster captures that in-between moment—spring seen from the lingering cold. Using collage and solarized effects, the visual language plays with contrast and anticipation. Variants explore the feel of spring at night, while the motion of the bird signals renewal, echoing the subtle arrival of the season.
