UX Research using Rapid Paper Prototyping+Usability Testing
Spork is an iOS app that gives users the opportunity to instantly discover the best nearby restaurants offering real-time, exclusive promotions.
Usability Testing We tested the app with 5 users. For each participant we had two observers taking notes plus 1 facilitator guiding the user through the process. We wanted to see if they understood what is a Spork, how they work and how to redeem the promotion. To test our assumptions we gave the users simple tasks to measure the app's performance.
Rapid Paper Prototyping + Usability Tests Round 2 We looked at the data and analyzed how it could be translated into new functionalities for the new version, this time we would produce a wireframe of our proposal. As a team we brainstormed using a Sketchboard approach to quickly perform design iterations and then single out the best user experience to document and build upon the final wireframe.
The following tests included 4 participants with the same process we followed for the previous sessions. This time we turned our paper prototypes into a functioning app, we included the proposed changes so the users could explore the new improved version.
