SaveLife: A Modern Blood Donation Mobile App

Problem:

In many communities, the lack of accessible, timely information about available blood donors and blood banks can lead to critical delays in emergency situations, putting lives at risk. Traditional methods of locating donors are often inefficient and time-consuming, especially when urgent blood transfusions are needed.

The Brief:


A client approached me with this pressing issue, asking me to design an app that would not only encourage blood donations but also make the process transparent, accessible, and rewarding for users.

Solution:

I designed a mobile app, SaveLife, that addresses these challenges. Using Figma, I created a clean, modern interface with a vibrant red color palette symbolizing urgency, health, and vitality. The app bridges the gap between blood donors, recipients, and blood banks, making the entire process seamless and efficient.

Key Features I Designed:

1. Home Feed: A dynamic feed displaying informative posts and user donation stats to motivate regular donations.

2. Appointment Management: An intuitive system for scheduling and managing donation appointments, with a clear list view for upcoming donations.

3. Profile Management: A personalized profile section featuring donation history, QR codes for identification, and a blood group tracker.

4. Emergency Alerts: A real-time notification system for urgent blood requests in nearby locations.

5. Compatibility Checker: A smart tool to determine donation eligibility based on blood type and other criteria.

6. Test Results Dashboard: A dedicated dashboard displaying health and blood test results post-donation, fostering transparency and trust.

Additional Functionalities:

The app simplifies the donor experience through features like automated reminders, real-time notifications for urgent requests, and a streamlined donation history tracker. Recipients benefit from instant connections to donors and blood banks, while donors are encouraged to participate regularly through user-friendly features.

Outcome:

SaveLife has become a life-saving platform that ensures fast, effective connections between blood donors, recipients, and blood banks. The app’s intuitive design and robust features promote a culture of voluntary blood donation.
