Kilo Code - Branding
I had the pleasure of designing a logo for Kilo Code, an AI-powered extension for VS Code. The brief asked for a strong and simple logo that could stand on its own and work on smaller sizes, as part of the UI.
After the first round of sketches we ditched all AI-related symbolism and explored the roots of programming with its CRT terminals with monospaced fonts and strings of binary code. We landed on a typographic logo with clear references to pixels and binary numbers; both the smallest software building blocks. Little easter egg: the i and o are also a 1 and 0.
As an extra I also included an alphabet and numerals for other branding elements. @devonmoodley used it for a really neat logo animation.
