Voice of Dissent: Kunal Kamra Holding the Constitution of India
✍️ Overview
This project is a bold visual homage to Indian stand-up comedian and political satirist Kunal Kamra, known for holding up a pocket-sized Constitution of India during his performances. Through this artwork, I sought to blend minimalist illustration with strong symbolism, paying tribute to Kamra’s courage, wit, and commitment to democratic values.
🧠 Concept & Inspiration
In recent years, Kamra has emerged as a powerful voice of dissent. His symbolic act of holding the Constitution during live performances resonated with many. Inspired by this moment, I envisioned a visual piece that would:
Celebrate free speech and democratic ideals
Showcase bold, clean illustration techniques
Be adaptable across mobile, tablet, and web platforms
The main goal was not just to recreate an image, but to create an iconic, stylized memory of that moment.

🔍 Process Breakdown...
1. Object Focus – The Constitution
I recreated the iconic pocketbook version of The Constitution of India (EBC edition) as a separate asset. This object holds emotional and political weight and deserved attention to detail.
2. Character Work – Kunal Kamra
To capture Kamra’s persona:
I created an outline-first version to perfect the structure
Focused on his watch, beard, gesture, and microphone hold
Maintained strong line symmetry in his arm movement and face structure
3. Final Illustration
The final version balances expressiveness and symbolism. With the mic in one hand and the Constitution in the other, the illustration communicates more than words.
4. Mobile Friendly Format
I created a tall-format version for use as mobile wallpapers and lock screens—ideal for people who want to carry bold reminders of free speech and justice in their pocket.
📱 Mockup Presentation
The illustration adapts perfectly to digital mockups for devices like tablets, iPhones, and laptops. Clean enough to be used in editorial visuals or educational material.
📋 Informative Poster
I also designed an educational/informative layout featuring a brief bio and achievements of Kunal Kamra for storytelling or printed formats.
