LA Kings Mexican Heritage Theme Night Art
This past weekend, the LA Kings celebrated Mexican Heritage night against the San Jose Sharks and our very own Dan Kuhlken had the distinct honor of creating the merchandise art for the event. His original collaboration with the LA Kings and VGHC started with the Dia de los Muertos theme night art in 2024, and as a second generation Mexican-American based in Los Angeles, Dan was especially excited to put his own spin on his heritage and city once again.
Three main graphics were created all inspired by a wide array of Mexican culture, from floral tile work to geometric textile patterns, and of course the country’s flag itself, including the eagle, snake and cactus motifs it embodies.
The concepts derived from exploring ways to enrich The Kings existing brand and icons while also infusing a mixture of Mexican culture and hockey themes, which is notably represented in our favorite piece, the Lucha Libre Hockey Mask! The merchandise was exclusively available during the night of the event and online for a limited time, but has all sold out. Stay tuned for DKNG‘s future collaborations with LA Kings and VGHC. Until then, ¡Vamos Kings Vamos!
