Super Mondays - Subscription Based Dining App

Super Mondays offers exclusive Buy-One-Get-One-Free main dish deals at curated restaurants every Monday. The app targets discerning diners who appreciate quality and convenience—offering value without compromising on experience. Unlike generic discount platforms, Super Mondays combines a clean UI with location-aware discovery and a smooth redemption process to promote premium dining options.

UX Challenges & Solutions

1. Balancing Premium Appeal with Discount Value

Challenge: Users often associate BOGO deals with cheap or low-tier dining experiences. We needed to shift this perception and ensure the app still felt premium and exclusive.

Solution: We used high-quality restaurant imagery, elegant typography, and subtle animations to elevate the experience. The interface gives users a sense of quality and trust while highlighting savings as a bonus—not the focus.

2. Reducing Cognitive Load on the Homepage

Challenge: Users land on the app expecting fast access to nearby deals without getting overwhelmed by filters or content overload.

Solution: We created a clean homepage with a strong headline and one-tap CTA: “Explore Top BOGO Deals.” Smart filters like “Near You,” “Cuisines,” and “My Deals” appear in a carousel format to minimize visual clutter. Deals are visually organized and location-tagged.

3. Simplifying the Redemption Flow

Challenge: Redemption at restaurants can be awkward or confusing. The process needed to be clear for both staff and users.

Solution: The deal screen highlights redemption steps clearly with a “Buy 1 Get 1” label and a clear call to action (e.g., show code to staff). Menu previews, outlet links, and operating hours are all accessible in one scrollable screen to reduce friction.

4. Location Discovery Without Overwhelm

Challenge: Users want to explore dining options via a map, but a cluttered view can become confusing.

Solution: We introduced category filters (Premium, Casual, Takeaway) and custom restaurant icons that reflect cuisine types visually. Users can toggle options in real-time and view deal hotspots instantly, encouraging exploration with clarity.

UI Design Insights

1. Typography & Branding

Inspired by platforms like Kindred, we used elegant sans-serif typography that balances clarity with sophistication. Headers are bold, calls to action are prominent, and deal labels (e.g., BOGO) use color-blocked highlights to draw attention without overwhelming.

2. Color Palette

We opted for a premium, calming palette:

  • Dark Green for trust and action (CTA buttons)

  • Gold-Yellow Accents to highlight deals (BOGO tags, ratings)

  • Warm Neutrals as backgrounds to let food imagery stand out

This combination keeps the tone warm, refined, and slightly playful.

3. Iconography & Visual Cues

Icons are minimal, intuitive, and support the user journey. From cuisine category symbols on the map to call/menu/info icons on the deal screen, every visual cue is functional and supports fast comprehension.

4. Map Experience

The map is Google Maps-inspired but with custom styling for clarity. Dining logos help users quickly identify brands, while floating filters guide preference-based discovery.
