Onboarding flow with microinteractions

Using a progressbar indicator in your onboarding flow.

I had the opportunity to work on a comprehensive onboarding flow for an SEO platform. Here, users can onboard their website by providing all the necessary information the system needs to generate tailored SEO content.

This short clip showcases the seamless onboarding experience throughout the 12-step flow, featuring a progress bar and carefully crafted microinteractions. The progress bar visually communicates users’ progress, ensuring clarity and reducing friction. Subtle microinteractions—such as animated checkmarks, smooth transitions, and real-time feedback—enhance engagement, guide users intuitively, and reinforce each step’s completion.

By integrating these elements, the onboarding flow feels more responsive, encouraging user progression while minimizing drop-offs. The combination of visual cues and interactive feedback creates a more intuitive and polished experience, improving user confidence and satisfaction.

The Purpose of the Progress Bar:

  • Provies Feedback – Indicates that a step has been successfully completed.

  • Communicates Status – Shows real-time progress throughout the onboarding experience.

Guides Users – Highlights key elements and gently nudges users toward the next step.

  • Reduces Errors – The checkmark indicators (or error messages) associated with each step in the menu provide instant feedback on form inputs, ensuring accuracy before moving forward.
