NordVPN conversion optimized landing page (technology)

Design Debrief 🤓

At SalesPathPro, design isn’t just about pretty colors and polished fonts. It’s about performance.

As Steve Jobs famously said, “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”

So let’s break down the strategy behind every section below — not just what you see, but why it’s there… and how it’s built to convert.

The hero

This is the most valuable section of any page, where you either convince users to stay or watch them bounce. While this hero is a bit busier than my usual style, it packs crucial details into a digestible layout.

Interactive Element Adding an interactive feature to your hero is a great way to provide immediate value. In this example, users can toggle the VPN preview on or off. When switched off, it exposes personal info and vulnerabilities, driving home the need for a VPN.

Reviews With such a massive number of positive reviews, it’s essential to showcase them prominently. Reviews immediately build trust and credibility.

Three Benefits Although there are countless reasons to choose NordVPN, focusing on three main perks keeps the message concise and compelling. It’s enough to spark interest without overwhelming your audience.

Payment Logos & Money-Back Guarantee Recognizable credit card and payment icons establish trust—people feel more secure when they see familiar options. The 30-day money-back guarantee further reduces risk, helping users feel confident about trying the product.

FAQ Section Hosting key questions in a simple dropdown format addresses common concerns without cluttering the page. It’s a neat way to handle objections, give clarity, and keep the hero sleek.

CTA & Visual Hierarchy: Placing the main call-to-action front and center ensures that users immediately see their next step. Meanwhile, a careful visual hierarchy—starting with the interactive element and flowing down through reviews, benefits, and FAQs—leads the user to key details without overwhelming them.

Interactive element

Real-Time Contrast: By toggling between “Without NordVPN” and “With NordVPN,” users can instantly see how location, IP address, and online activity visibility change. This direct comparison clearly demonstrates the value of the product.

Security Status Visibility: The shift from “Vulnerable” to “Protected” grabs attention and reinforces the core benefit of using a VPN—namely, safeguarding personal info.

Visual Cues: Subtle color changes (green vs. red) and status labels (“Hidden” vs. “Visible”) create a straightforward, at-a-glance understanding of what’s happening behind the scenes.

User Education: Each element—location, IP address, internet provider, and online activity—serves as a mini lesson on what a VPN can hide or reveal, making it educational as well as engaging.

Minimal Complexity: Despite showing several pieces of data, the design remains simple and clean, ensuring viewers grasp the transformation quickly without feeling overwhelmed.

Feature Overview

This section spotlights the core features in a clean, consistent layout. The goal? Present vital info in an easily digestible way that aligns with the brand’s minimal style.

Balanced Grid: A symmetrical 2x2 grid organizes each feature card, making the content scannable and visually coherent.

Uniform Card Style: Each card follows the same structure—icon, heading, concise text—to create a straightforward hierarchy and reinforce brand consistency.

Whitespace & Device Icons: Ample spacing prevents clutter, while the neatly arranged device icons clearly communicate multi-platform support without overwhelming the design.

Footer

Footer CTA Overview: This closing section ties everything together with an interactive toggle and a clear path to purchase. The design aims to summarize key points while reinforcing the brand’s straightforward style.

Toggle Emphasis: Placing the on/off switch prominently beside the brand logo visually connects NordVPN to the action of “turning on” protection. The toggle state shifts colors and labels, making the change feel immediate.

Minimalist Layout: A clean background with subtle gradients draws the eye to the essentials—ISP info, IP address, and the big “Buy Now” button. Red indicators and strikethrough text reinforce the “without protection” state without clutter.

Single, Clear CTA: The “Buy Now” button uses a bold outline and concise copy, standing out against the softer background. This direct approach keeps the focus on completing the purchase and wraps up the user journey neatly.

That’s all for now, folks! 😎🚀I hope you enjoyed this design, and as always, I’d love your feedback!Interested in hiring me? Give me a shout!
