Ramo del Valle - Torrontes Wine Label
Wines Of The World Series
Welcome to the Wines of the World series, where today we're spotlighting Torrontes. Recently, I’ve become captivated by the incredible diversity of wines from around the globe. Inspired by my New Year's resolution to create a new piece of work every day, I’ve embarked on designing a unique wine label for each type of wine I explore, capturing the essence and story behind each varietal.
About The Design
The label design for Ramo del Valle—which translates to “Bouquet of the Valley”—elegantly mirrors its name through a classical, painterly aesthetic. At the heart of the label is a richly detailed still-life illustration of a lush flower arrangement framed by an arched window, suggesting both a bouquet and a view into an idyllic valley. The use of gold foil for both the arched border and the typography adds a sense of luxury and timelessness, while the typeface, with its slender, serifed curves, evokes refined European elegance. The layout is vertically harmonious, letting the central floral image shine, while the words “Ramo del Valle” gently arc above the image and “Torrontés” rests below in matching gold. The soft yellow of the capsule and the pale hue of the wine echo the natural tones of the bouquet, creating a cohesive and romantic visual experience that feels delicate, fragrant, and deeply tied to the beauty of the land.
About Torrontés
Torrontés is an aromatic white grape native to Argentina, known for its vibrant floral aromas of jasmine, rose, and peach. Despite its sweet-smelling nose, it’s typically dry, crisp, and refreshing on the palate. Grown in high-altitude regions like Salta, it offers bright acidity with flavors of citrus, stone fruit, and melon.
