Algiers Courthouse

Algiers Courthouse. 225 Morgan Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. Built in 1896.

The Algiers Courthouse was constructed in 1896 as a replacement to the Duverje Plantation home, the former main government building in Algiers since 1866. This building is said to be the third-oldest continually operating courthouse in the State of Louisiana.

The historic building was renovated from 1979 - 1984, and still serves as a spot for marriage licenses, traffic tickets, voter registration, and more.
