FONT FLOW(er)
I wanted to play with this
Designing a poster is more than just arranging elements on a canvas—it’s about creating a visual experience that sparks curiosity. My goal was to excite typography by combining elements that rarely go together: a delicate flower, industrial plastic wrapping, and sharp shards of glass. This unusual fusion challenges conventional aesthetics and creates a compelling visual contrast.
Design Process
To maintain optical focus, I followed the rule of thirds, ensuring a balanced composition that naturally draws the viewer’s eye. The flower takes center stage, acting as the heart of the design, while layers of plastic wrapping introduce texture and a sense of fragility. To amplify the edginess, I strategically placed shards of glass, adding both structure and a hint of tension.
Typography plays an integral role in this composition. I chose a nonsensical word, one that aligns seamlessly with the grid system, enhancing the structured yet chaotic feel of the poster. The interplay between type and imagery adds depth, making the design not just a visual piece but an experience in itself.
This approach allowed me to merge contrasting elements into a cohesive design, pushing the boundaries of conventional poster-making while maintaining aesthetic harmony.
