BBW Landing Page and Style Guide — A Case Study

This case study describes the design process for a landing page and accompanying style guide created within 2 days.

Project Overview

Better Business Weekend is a 3-day conference that brings together business owners for a unique experience set in nature.

The event is part of Mokrogorska Business School's established program and thus requires a careful balance between maintaining recognizable brand elements and introducing a distinctive new identity.

My role

As the web designer, I conceptualized and executed the entire design, from initial brand alignment to final implementation and developer handoff.

Primary goals

  • - Create a fresh visual identity: Leverage the signature blue from the existing Mokrogorska brand while introducing a modern feel.

  • - Design a responsive landing page: Ensure the design communicates essential information clearly and guides visitors through the conversion funnel.

  • - Deliver quality under a tight deadline: Complete the entire design process within 2 working days without compromising quality.

My process

Holistic Brand View

I began by understanding both the established identity of the existing Better Business program and the uniqueness of the Bolji Biznis Weekend event. This step was critical for creating a design that resonated with the target audience while remaining consistent with the parent brand.

Competitor analysis

To ensure that the BBW landing page stands out while staying relevant, I analyzed landing pages of various tech boot camps, business events, and professional networking sites.

Style guide

Here are the visual elements I used to forge a small style guide for this project:

  • - Color Palette: The characteristic blue from the existing program was maintained as a primary color, symbolizing trust while the pear accent color was added to symbolize youth.

  • - Typography: A combination of General Sans and Boska was chosen to reflect a modern, youthful energy while ensuring credibility.

  • - Shapes: A custom set of shapes was developed, blending innovative geometric forms with natural elements to evoke both professionalism and nature. This “final touch” helped solidify the overall aesthetic.

  • Imagery: A special photo filter was designed to be applied to every image there was on a website.

Landing Page Design

The landing page was structured to present clear and concise information. Each section was designed to deliver a specific message, ensuring that potential attendees quickly understood the event’s value. I will not describe each section separately, I will list out images of them.

Delivery

The final design not only aligned with the brand’s visual identity but also functioned as a key component of the event’s marketing strategy.

The landing page’s strategic placement in the sales funnel was confirmed through sales, ensuring it effectively attracted the right target group.
