Exhibition Design: „The World of Tim Burton“

Objectives

The ‘World of Tim Burton’ exhibition shows 500 drawings, paintings, photographs and moving image clips by Hollywood director Tim Burton, who became famous primarily through the films Batman and Edward with the Scissor Hands. When the collection came to the Max-Ernst-Museum in Brühl, the Landschaftsverband Rheinland commissioned us to design the exhibition and create merchandise for the German market.

Brand

In the creation process for an overarching Tim Burton brand for exhibition and merchandise, we orientated ourselves on the director's unusual, artistic style. We developed a line that stands out with special elements such as fluorescent prints, but at the same time can be seen as a direct continuation of Tim Burton's DNA.

Exhibition design

The exhibition catalogue was the core of our work for Tim Burton. We designed a premium print product that impresses with its unique printing techniques and diverse details. With a sophisticated interplay of light and dark, we picked up on the characteristic design style of Burton's works.

Printing technology

Für den Ausstellungskatalog entwickelten wir ein spezielles und neuartiges Druckverfahren. Wir kreierten einen Farbton, der zum einen im Dunkeln leuchtet und zum anderen bei Helligkeit weiß und nicht milchig-gelb erscheint. Durch die neuartige Farbgestaltung konnten wir eine hohe Attraktivität und einen hohen Wiedererkennungswert realisieren.
