Booz Allen Website Redesign

The Challenge:

As demand for high-quality content and a seamless digital experience across devices increased, Booz Allen encountered significant challenges with its legacy content management system (CMS). The existing platform failed to meet the evolving needs for consistency, usability, and scalability. Moreover, the growing volume of content further complicated the management of both the main site and its mobile version, resulting in versioning issues and operational risks. To overcome these hurdles, Booz Allen required a robust technical and design solution that would support the development of a responsive, mobile-optimized website while offering an intuitive and efficient content authoring experience for their marketing team. The goal was to streamline content management through Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), ensuring a seamless, frictionless experience for both users and content creators.

Problem Statement: Booz Allen is struggling to meet the growing demand for high-quality, consistent content across multiple devices. Their current content management system lacks the flexibility and scalability needed to create a responsive, mobile-optimized website. Additionally, content creators face challenges with inefficient and unintuitive authoring processes. Without a more robust solution, this is leading to a fragmented user experience. The company needs a system, such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), that will provide a seamless, consistent digital experience for users and streamline the authoring process for content creators.

The Process

While a responsive webpage design addressed several user-centric challenges, it didn’t fully resolve the need for a broader range of marketers, beyond the digital team, to contribute as authors within the enterprise content management system. To meet these requirements and significantly enhance the experience for all users interacting with the CMS, we began by conducting a comprehensive site audit, defining user personas, and collaborating with Axis41 for development expertise around Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

The Outcome:

The outcome was the creation of a component-based authoring system that streamlined the process of creating and editing pages. This solution not only supported Booz Allen’s digital strategy but also enhanced the integration of web, mobile, social media, digital marketing (SEM, SEO), and analytics, ultimately driving business growth and improving overall user engagement.
