TTF Creek Kits – A Bilingual Nature Activity Book Series

Overview.
TTF Watershed is a non-profit dedicated to promoting clean water and healthy communities throughout the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed. They offer educational programs and events that empower locals to take action in their parks, backyards, and neighborhoods. As part of this mission, they created the Creek Kits—interactive, bilingual activity books designed to help young children explore nature, stay active, and have fun learning about the environment.
Project.
I was tasked with designing a series of books, each focusing on a different way of experiencing nature: seeing close, seeing far, hearing sounds, and looking through water. The challenge was to design engaging, digestible activities for small families, ensuring accessibility for both English and Spanish speakers. Colorful charts, fun facts, bold colors, and well-structured spaces were added throughout for both languages, making the activities easy to navigate and fun to complete.
Each page blends drawing activities, conversation prompts, and physical challenges to encourage movement, curiosity, and hands-on learning. The final result is a playful, visually rich set of four books that spark curiosity and strengthen the bond between children, families, and nature. More than just activity books, the TTF Watershed Creek Kits create opportunities for shared exploration, learning, and discovery outdoors!
Logo.
The goal was to create a logo that highlighted TTF’s local wildlife and people-centered values while maintaining visual continuity with their existing brand. As the designer of their brand (created while working at Pixel Parlor), I was able to build upon the existing design and develop a new visual pattern that represents the park’s wildlife, its values, and the new walkway.
