Chinese Zodiac Website
This site was designed as a submission for Framer's Site of The Year 2024 under the Interaction Design category. Unfortunately, I didn't win; nevertheless, I wanted to share the site with all of you because I had so much fun creating it. I landed on the Chinese Zodiac system because it is a simple concept with so much room for creativity and exploration - taking a typically traditional subject and seeing how I could make it immersive, interactive, and most importantly, fun.
The biggest challenge I faced was creating the glassy masked effect of the cube as it spin across different coloured backgrounds. It was important to hit a few criteria: 1) the animals need to still be clearly visible; 2) the Chinese characters need to be legible; 3) It needs to interact with every part of the environment. It was a personal technical feat and I'm happy with how it turned out!
