Here is the animated background loop (intro) for Youtube channel Hoangthoughts I made in 2023.

It's an interesting podcast channel by Hoang Nguyen about self-development and thinking.

Having worked with Hoang a few years ago, I wanted to create this piece to share our collaboration story and give him a shout-out.

How This Started

The first style was based on a design I made for myself 2-3 years ago and shared on social.

When Hoang saw it, he asked me to create one for him. I decided to make it as a gift for my friend.

A Few Months Later

He came back and asked me to continue the project, requesting animation so he could use it as his podcast intro.

Here is the result after trying a few concept sketches.

Finally, he got the version he liked.

After cleaning up, I started with animating. The most enjoyable part was creating the interaction between Hoang and his pets. After making some final adjustments to his hair, here's what we achieved.

I'm delighted to see his channel growing, now reaching episode 69 with 14,000 subscribers.

And he's still using the animation for every intro, woohoo!
