Document for a Monument – About the past, present and future of a remarkable institute of democracy

The Binnenhof in The Hague (NL) is the oldest House of Parliament in the world still in use and will undergo a major refit from 2020 until 2030. In co-operation with photographer Dick Holthuis and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, I have initiated the development of a series about the history, the rebuilding and redecoration proces of this remarkable institute of democracy.

A unique exploration of the genesis of the center of our democratic constitutional state – along the genesis of a building complex that is of great historical importance and unique in the world, and that has its own current dynamics.

Project Document voor een Monument is the result of an initiative which I have started with photographer Dick Holthuis, for which the support and cooperation of an almost endless series of agencies, companies and individuals was found during years of preparation. In summary, my role at this project focusses on Editor-in-Chief, Creative Director & Publisher.
