Marand, modular typeface

EN Marand is a project that started in 2016 as part of an academic exercise. The task was to design an uppercase alphabet using a single geometric module as the base. In this way, the main module was obtained, which is characterized by its 45-degree terminations.

Finally, after several revisions, the remaining glyphs were designed to make the font much more versatile, and also including the lowercase alphabet, numbers, symbols and some alternative characters for certain letters.

ES Marand es un proyecto que comenzó en 2016 como parte de un ejercicio académico. La tarea consistía en diseñar un alfabeto en mayúsculas utilizando como base un único módulo geométrico. De esta manera, se obtuvo el módulo principal, que se caracteriza por sus terminaciones de 45 grados.

Finalmente, después de varias revisiones, se diseñaron los glifos restantes para hacer la fuente mucho más versátil, incluyendo también el alfabeto en minúsculas, números, símbolos y algunos caracteres alternativos para ciertas letras.
