research aimed to identify the core visual style parameters and functionalities we’re missing to be a fully successful banking app — emphasising simple usage for different user groups, minimalism as an approach of showing a certain amount of data at the same time on the screen, functional depth, and clarity of language, which is so crucial for both text and data, especially for Fintech applications, where we have a focus on displaying different type of data.
In product design quality standards are mostly about creating a seamless, user-friendly experience where everything feels intentional and cohesive, plus the brand’s design language is applied correctly. Typography plays also a key role by establishing a clear hierarchy with well-matched font sizes, making the interface easy to read without overwhelming the user, especially for fintech products, where we have a lot of numbers. Clear, branded iconography adds trust and loyalty from the user. Custom visual assets act as a silent language, ensuring communication is intuitive and aligned with the brand’s identity.
The dark mode adds both aesthetic appeal and practicality, with high contrast improving readability while reducing strain. Consistent branding ties everything together, reassuring users and reflecting core principles across the board. Finally, minimalism keeps the focus on what matters, using simple colour schemes to create a clean, distraction-free experience. Together, these elements show how quality standards turn a good design into something exceptional.
By analysing these factors, we aimed to uncover what sets successful products apart and how these insights could be applied to create a seamless and impactful design experience.
