Hokusai Gojira

The design that marked my absolute debut in the nerdy T-shirt universe, as seen on sites such as Qwertee, TeeFury, Ript Apparel and others (it was honestly a completely unexpected breakthrough, that to this day still frankly blows me away...).

I'm a big fan of monsters and this was meant as a tribute/fanart for the launch of the latest Godzilla movie (2014): I decided to celebrate the King of Monsters through a reinterpretation of the iconic "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa" by Katsushika Hokusai, placing the silhouette of Gojira right there, among the waves.

The red circle is there to remind of Japan even more, considering that both Gojira and The Great Wave are notorious symbols of the Land of the Rising Sun.
I also made an alternative, vintage version of this image in a different color palette (way more similar to Hokusai's original work) and a bit of a grungy look, but I will post that in a different shot. :)
