KireiBD: Enhancing User Experience for Japanese Beauty Enthusias
Project Overview
KireiBD is an e-commerce platform dedicated to offering authentic Japanese beauty products to customers in Bangladesh. The primary objective was to design a user-friendly website that simplifies product discovery and purchase, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for beauty enthusiasts.
Role and Responsibilities
As the lead UX/UI designer, I was responsible for:
Conducting user research to understand the target audience's needs and preferences.
Developing wireframes and prototypes to establish the website's structure.
Designing the user interface with a focus on aesthetics and usability.
Collaborating with developers to ensure accurate implementation of the design.
Design Process
User Research: Conducted surveys and interviews with potential users to gather insights into their shopping behaviors and preferences, identifying a demand for authentic Japanese beauty products and a preference for a clean, easy-to-navigate website.
Wireframing and Prototyping: Created wireframes to map out the website's layout, followed by interactive prototypes to visualize user interactions and gather feedback before final design implementation.
UI Design: Emphasized a minimalist aesthetic inspired by Japanese design principles, utilizing a neutral color palette and high-quality imagery to highlight products.
Usability Testing: Conducted usability tests with a select group of users to identify pain points and areas for improvement, refining the design based on feedback to enhance user satisfaction.
Key Features
Product Categorization: Implemented intuitive product categories and filters to help users easily find desired items.
Secure Payment Gateway: Integrated a reliable and secure payment system to build user trust and ensure transaction safety.
Promotional Highlights: Designed banners to showcase promotions, such as free shipping on orders over 800 BDT and discounts for J-Beauty Users Group members, to attract and retain customers.
Outcome
The redesigned KireiBD website received positive feedback for its user-friendly interface and efficient shopping experience. Post-launch analytics indicated increased user engagement, higher conversion rates, and a growing customer base, reflecting the success of the UX enhancements.
