A lifetime of creativity…
After almost 33 years in business and 40 years since I first started my working life as a compositor and finished artist in Wellington typesetting firm, Comset, it’s seems an opportune time to reflect on where it all started.
As a baby, I was already ‘into’ packaging and as a 10 year old I was secretly forging postage stamps and dollar notes. I was clearly on a pathway towards life as a career criminal or a graphic designer. Thankfully, it was the latter not the former.
1992 saw the start of what was to become Lloyd Creative, a venture which has given me the privilege of working with many hundreds of companies and individuals, crafting thousands of identities and creative visual concepts over the last nearly 33 years.
Of course technology has brought about many changes within the industry but one thing has never changed; the relentless search for the big idea, that spark of inspiration to give your client the competitive advantage they’re looking to you for in the marketplace. After more than 3 decades, that challenge is still as exciting and rewarding as it has ever been.
After all these years I can say I’m thankful for the many clients who have put their trust in me, blessed with a family who have always supported my efforts and grateful to the Lord for giving me what abilities I have.
So what does the next decade hold for the design industry in general and Lloyd Creative specifically? Only time will tell, but I for one am looking forward to it.
