Large Icons Become Spot Illustrations

Occasionally, while working on large icons (48px and 64px grid sizes) in a project, there will be a point where it makes more sense to increase the image size a bit more. At this point, it becomes less of a large icon, and more of spot illustration.

Here is some work in progress on an illustration, which originally began as a large icon, for the Responsiveness feature in Subtle UI.
