Ideate Stage

The Ideate Stage

In the ideate stage, we focus on solving user problems with creative ideas. We brainstorm, sketch user journeys with storyboards, and prioritize the best solutions. Big-picture storyboards show the overall experience, while close-ups focus on key interactions. The result? Clear, user-centered ideas ready for testing.

Crazy 8

Crazy 8 is a fast ideation technique used in the UX design ideate stage. In 8 minutes, I sketch 8 quick ideas, focusing on quantity over perfection. It sparks creativity, encourages out-of-the-box thinking, and helps explore diverse solutions for further development.

Big Picture Storyboard

This storyboard outlines Ruby’s journey. She starts overwhelmed by chaotic finances but discovers Money Vault. With its simple setup, she connects accounts, creates a budget, and tracks spending. Over time, her credit score improves, and she gains control, leading to a more secure and relaxed lifestyle.

Close-Up Storyboard

This close-up storyboard zooms in on Ruby’s interaction with the app. From signing up to exploring her personalized dashboard, she uses visual tools to track expenses, monitor her credit score, and follow actionable tips for improvement. Each step showcases how the app’s features make financial management intuitive and empowering.

Transitioning from Ideation to Prototyping

We've completed the ideation phase, including the Crazy 8 exercise and storyboard, to identify the best solutions for user needs. These ideas have been mapped into a clear user journey. Now, we’re moving into the prototyping stage to bring these concepts to life, focusing on usability and functionality for testing and refinement. This ensures our design stays user-centered and effective.
